Pay It Forward

There are many initiatives and campaigns I would love to take to part of but due a lack of time and laziness I don't. BUT I have taken part in 'Pay It Forward' thanks to Vivian at Wandering Curiocity. I posted the picture below asking for anyone who wanted to get involved. But for firstly:

What is Pay It Forward?
Everyday something wonderful happens and we must show the world that people are good! Kindness can extend beyond ourselves if we are willing to share it.  Times are tough, so ever small thing does count; opening up a door, paying for a meal, helping an old lady out, giving to charity, cleaning up trash, planting a tree, listening to someone.  Service to others, that what its all about! (from the website).

I had a good response, what I love most is that everyone apart from one is a complete strangers it's nice to make new connections. It was easier to get involved as the time scale is quite long and it gives me time to prepare and  not feel pressured. That also means that whatever I do is more heartfelt! I think every I will do will probably be postal.

***I'm a bit late posting this my first Pay it Forward has already gone. I hope the recipient get it sooner I will blog it and each thing I send it out once I know it's received.

Pay It Forward initiative: The first 10 people to comment on this status with "I'm in" will receive a surprise from me at some point in this calendar year - anything from a book, a ticket, a visit, something homegrown or made, a postcard, absolutely any surprise!
There will be no warning and  it will happen when the mood comes over me... I will find something I believe will suit you and make you happy these 10 people must make the same offer and distribute their own joy!
Simply copy this text onto your own profile so we can create a web of connection and kindness. Let's do more nice things for each other in 2014 without any reason other than to make each other smile and to show that we are thinking of each other. Here's to a more enjoyable, more friendly and love-filled year! (remember to inbox me your address if I don't already have it!) #payitforward #connection #kindness #positivity

Crafty

Letter writing has always been a creative outlet for as well as keeping in touch and making connections. Lately I'm glad that I have been able to creative with my outgoing letters. I invested in some book for drawing and typography in February. These I have put to good use it's good to try something new and try something new. Fun times have been had lots of stamping, cutting, sticking. colouring, doodling etc. but it has meant a messy kitchen table.

Everything is Connected Postcard Project

I'm starting a new postcard project using the Keri Smith postcard book 'Everything is Connected'. Much like her 'Wreck This Journal' each postcard has a task, these range from decorating, writing, wrecking, hiding etc.

Initially I intended to swap this but I wanted to see what people would do with them and it's a great way to make new connections. So I posted the following below via Instagram, feel free to leave a comment here if you want to take part.

I will be posting these out to pen pals, postcrossers and anyone who want to take part. If you are selected (I have a limited number of postcards, sorry!) I will ask you to email me. Once you recieve the postcard, complete the task, take a picture or video and post it with the hash-tag #rgpostcardproject

I will also need a copy of the photo of the postcard as I will blog about the end results. My aim is to send out only 3-4 postcards a week as it's going to be costly.

Here is what you can expect to receive if you get a postcard. There is a range of different tasks, some very simple, some adventurous some artistic. So please only say yes if you will definitely do the task whatever it may be. You will not be able to choose your postcard or know in advance what the task is. I think that spoils the fun of it. Some of the task may involve you having to send the postcard onto someone else so if you don't want to pay the price of the postage let me know.

Outgoing [March]

Lots of postcards going out this month. I decided to so some spring swaps with post crossing. I almost dropped things in the post to friends, family and IGers. A few birthdays and belated birthday envelopes went out also. I don't often to send small packages or swaps but I sent some Japanese sweets to my pen pal Robert (dearsincerly) and Moomin mail to Vivian (wandering curiosity) to thank her for last months fantastic Tintin mail.

I enjoyed swapping the postcards but it can be stressful which is why I don't do it often. There are many benefits and lots of fun to be had but there is a downside. But I couldn't resist the sakura postcards and in multi packs there were cheaper than usual.

I've bought A LOT of new stationery recently I think I will have to do another 'Stationery Stash' post. It was great to use it some of it, I cant want to it on more letters and postal projects.

Incoming [March]

This month I received more postcards than letters and included some belated birthday. Of the letters I received needless to say they were absolutely amazing. I am taking my sweet time with my replies so none of the letter I received this month have been replied to yet. Included in my mail were more Tintin postcard AND Harry Potter I'm a very happy girly indeed. I also received a few great bits that I can use in my own snail mail. April's outgoing should be fun.
